We have always been privileged to offer, in partnership with amazing exhibitors and sponsors, unique sensory and learning experiences at our festivals. But this Winter’s Masterclass schedule is more special than ever!

From an introduction to English Wine led by living legend Steven Spurrier to a refined food & wine pairing experience devised by Le Cordon Bleu’s team, by way of a unique tasting of Nyetimber’s range, this is truly an outstanding schedule.
We wish we could sit all the sessions ourselves!

An Introduction to English Wine - A sense of Terroir and Craft
with Steven Spurrier

Join wine legend Steven Spurrier on an exploration of the achievements and potential of English terroir and winemaking. Steven will guide you through an exquisite line-up of Wiston, Gusbourne and (his own) Bride Valley wines for a comprehensive understanding of England as a premium wine producing country, where talented vignerons are making world-class still and sparkling cuvées!

Savoury Choux Delights and Wine - a wine & food pairing masterclass
with Ian Waghorn and Matthieu Longuère MS

A unique opportunity to engage with Le Cordon Bleu’s leading educational team - Chef Ian Waghorn and wine development manager Matthieu Longuere - and learn about the craft and scienece behind food & wine pairing. Waghorn’s team will be preparing delicious choux’s on site that attendees will taste alongside wines carefully selected by Longuere. Full recipes and tasting notes will be provided so that you can use your knowledge during your Christmas celebrations and show off as the perfect host!

DO Rueda: A focus on Verdejo

Rueda is the quintessential home of local grape variety Verdejo. In this Masterclass Junta de Castilla y Leon brings you an impressive range from some of the best producers for a full understanding of the varietal’s potential and of how it can express different terroirs and winemaking choices.


Session #2 - 5:15pm

The Wines and Grapes of Castilla y León

A journey through the different DOC’s of Castilla y León, for a full understanding of the region’s multiple terroirs and grape varieties. From Rueda’s refreshing Verdejos to Ribera del Duero’s rich Tempranillos, this masterclass offers a unique opportunity to taste some of the best wines from the ‘heart of Spain’. And be ready to be surprised by a single varietal ‘Prieto Picudo’!

Session #2 - 6:15pm

Nyetimber - the ultimate masterclass

Nyetimber will be hosting a masterclasses with a dedicated Brand Ambassador, offering attendees the opportunity to discover the craftsmanship and artistry behind every bottle of Nyetimber. The experience will also provide a rare and exclusive chance to savour England’s finest prestige cuvée, Nyetimber 1086 Rosé, alongside the award-winning Classic Cuvée 2010 Magnum and Blanc de Blancs 2007 Magnum.
