Joanna Simon

Jo is well known for her 22 years as wine correspondent of The Sunday Times (five in tandem as one of its cookery writers) and for her books on wine and wine and food matching, published in multiple languages that she can’t read. She writes for a variety of publications including The World of Fine Wine and Decanter and is editor of the new consumer magazine Waitrose Drinks, the third drinks magazine she has edited. She was also presenter of BBC R4’s series The Bottle Uncorked. She blogs and recommends wines on joannasimon.com, judges international wine, photography and chocolate competitions (next year, wine and food in Mauritius – it’s a hard life) and gives talks and tastings widely. When she’s not in London or visiting wine regions, she’s usually in a remote part of southwest France, among other things playing at being an entomologist.
